Patient Story: One Woman’s Tummy Tuck

At one of my visits, I told Dr. Pan how upset I was with my bulging abdomen. I asked if she could do liposuction and a tummy tuck. She told me that I had no fat to liposuction and that the “pregnant belly” was due to diastasis recti or stretched abdominal muscles. I weighed only 117 pounds but had the belly of a 9-month pregnant woman. She explained the procedure, abdominoplasty with diastasis recti repair, and I was in. I was 69 when I had the surgery, but wish I had known about it when I was in my early 50’s.
