Dr. Pan’s philosophy centers on restoring or improving one’s natural appearance, rather than drastic alteration. Through education and instruction, she demonstrates to her patients why she advises certain interventions and the logic behind her thought process. That way, her patients fully understand the recommended procedures.
Dr. Pan is also a staunch advocate of preventative treatments to combat aging. She feels this is the cornerstone of her anti-aging philosophy: “age gracefully, but not without a fight.”

Biography:
Dr. Deborah Pan is a board-certified female plastic surgeon serving all of greater New Haven and Fairfield counties and has patients from as far away as New York City to the Boston area. She completed her higher education at the finest institutions, graduating as valedictorian of her high school and going on to attend Harvard University, The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and then completed her general surgery and plastic surgery training at Yale University. Since finishing her training, she has dedicated herself to serving the Connecticut population. She founded ESANA Plastic Surgery Center & MedSpa in 2006, three years after starting her practice in New Haven.
As the first female plastic surgeon in New Haven, her practice and reputation quickly grew for her outstanding work in breast reconstruction as well as cosmetic surgery of the breast, body, and face. She has won the New Haven Advocate’s Readers’ Poll for Best Cosmetic Surgeon numerous times, and ESANA has also won multiple awards from Connecticut Magazine, New Haven Living Magazine, and the New Haven Advocate. In the past she has also appeared as a guest on WTNH’s Connecticut Style, as well as being interviewed by local publications for her opinions on the latest in plastic and reconstructive surgery topics.
Dr. Pan’s interests outside of work include worldwide travel and food. Having been athletic all her life she tries to maintain a balance of healthy living and work responsibilities and can often be found participating in yoga, Pilates, tennis, golf, skiing and paddle boarding.
Charitable Work:
Since her formative residency years, Dr. Pan has donated her time and efforts to providing plastic surgery to those in need, travelling to such remotely underserved countries including Morocco, Thailand, Colombia, and several times to the Philippines. While there, she performed repairs of cleft lips, burn traumas, and birth defects.
For her repeated medical missions, Dr. Pan was awarded the Philippine American Association of Connecticut Service Award “for her untiring and continued support to improve the quality of life of indigent Filipinos” in 2010. She can also be found sponsoring charitable events around the greater New Haven area.

5’4” and 135lbs from a 32A (maybe B) to a 34D to DD
At 38 years old…after 4 children…. Significant weight-loss and prior tummy tuck I finally decided to get my breasts done. I had Significant drooping and sagging (effects of weight loss and breastfeeding neither of which I regret). I went with the ideal implant because it made me feel safer that it was saline but had the more natural feel. I ended Up with 540cc along with a full lift. I was afraid of losing nipple sensation but honestly, I’m more sensitive even now a year later than ever. I will Say for those of you considering which to go with…. Larger sizes like this don’t seem to feel quite as natural and if that’s important to you…. You may want to lean toward a silicone option. Just my opinion.
Dr Pan and her staff were so warm helpful and patient. I did have a minor complication, but it was my body doing its thing and healing. I will only see them in the future I will never go elsewhere.

This would be just about a year post op. Honestly, I didn’t care about looking fake or not but they rly
almost look natural. I couldn’t be happier with Dr Pan or my results. They’re better than I even Expected

I went to Esana to meet with Dr. Pan after we had an online consultation. I researched many plastic surgeons in CT/NY prior. She went over all of my options that would be best for me. I followed her suggestions for my body type and the look I was trying to achieve. She made me feel 100% confident she was the surgeon for me. I am only about a week out and the whole process and recovery has been amazing. Everyone is different recovery wise, but I have to say I feel amazing already and I’m loving the results I’m seeing. Alyssa her PA is also amazing caring and attentive. Susan in the office was very responsive anytime I had questions. The whole team has made this process so easy. I would recommend Dr. Pan and her team to anyone. She it truly talented and has the best team working with her.

Great experience with Dr. Pan and the whole Esana team. I had wanted a breast augmentation since my teens, and finally decided to go ahead with it at age 22. I found Dr. Pan through RealSelf, and had my initial consultation with her back in February. I explained to Dr. Pan that I wanted smaller implants and wanted to remain as natural as possible. Dr. Pan understood what I wanted and needed right away, recommending me implants that would look good on my small frame, and even took into consideration that I love to run/workout. I decided to go with Dr. Pan as my surgeon without meeting with anyone else!
My surgery was initially scheduled for April, but due to the pandemic was pushed to beginning of May. I actually didn’t decide on my implant size until the day of my surgery (Dr. Pan orders 3 sizes for you) and ended up going with 225cc. The day of my surgery went so smoothly, and the only pain I had was right after surgery. Overall, my recovery went extremely smoothly. I was up and walking around easily by the third day, and only needed Tylenol after the first two nights for pain management.
Throughout the whole process, Dr. Pan kept telling me that patients usually wish they had gone bigger, and advised me to go with 250cc, but I was so afraid of having implants that were too big (especially because I started with nothing). I was scared of the adjustment and assured her that I would rather be too small than too big. But now that I am 2+ months post-op, I can honestly say I wish I had listened to her and gone just a little bigger! My biggest advice is don’t base your implant size off what other people got, or off of bra size. Everyone’s body is different so implants will look different on everyone. Listen to your surgeon and pick a size based on the look you want to have!
Overall, I am so happy with my results. I love the way my new boobs look and feel. It only took me about two weeks to adjust to them, and now I feel like this is the body I was born with. Highly recommend Dr. Pan to anyone looking to have a breast augmentation! Also thank you to Michelle and everyone else at Esana for their patience and answering all my questions.

Not only is Dr. Pan one of the best in the industry but so is her team of professionals. From the moment I met Dr. Pan, I was confident in her to deliver the exact results I was looking for. Dr. Pan has a calm and collected bed side manner that puts you at ease. Her team is sweet, friendly and always responsive. No arrogant attitudes when you walk in just smiles and good vibes. Dr Pan and her staff were absolutely amazing. I had a breast lift and augmentation after 4 children breastfeeding and weight loss. I had It done during covid. I was unable to have any support with me, but Dr Pan’s nurse and staff really helped to ease any anxiety and they explained everything. Great bed side manner but also very skilled. A year and a half later they actually look natural. No regrets and I would absolutely see Dr Pan for any future procedures.
